Execution Copy of the Pac 12 Settlement Agreement
Obtained by the Bay Area News Group: No Signatures/Heavy Redactions
Here is an early (and maybe only) look at what the outgoing members have agreed (Attached at the bottom).
As reported by various outlets: $65 million to the Pac 2 from current fiscal year Pac 12 revenue or direct payment by departing universities. The NCAA tournament credits, Rose Bowl payments, and College Football playoff payments are above and beyond this amount.
A few completely redacted pages follow an affirmation that departing schools have reviewed tentative projections of future revenues.
The Pac 12 is granting royalty-free access to the departing schools to their media content held by the conference.
If the conference dissolves before the end of fiscal year 2026, the assets of the conference will be split 12 ways.
The remaining members agree not to sue the departing members for various actions. I’d really like to see the redacted item on this one. It also is redacted in departing members’ release. Not sure if ESPN is covered by any of the the language here. I leave that to the attorneys. T
Here is the language agreed to by both parties on the confidentiality of the redacted portions. Good fodder for conspiracy theories.
